Being heavy on an electric bike doesn’t really affect the performance in any way. Yes, it’s obviously a bit harder to pedal if you’re over 250lbs, but it’s not impossible. If you can pedal on a non-electric bike then you’ll have no problems with riding an electric bike. You just need to be fit and healthy.
However, if you’re over 260lbs or so then we generally wouldn’t recommend getting an electric bike for your own safety and the safety of others around you. This is because this weight is above the recommended weight limit of most e-bikes. The recommended capacity of most models is 250lbs, but some more lightweight models are rated at 300lbs. In any case, we recommend that you consult the manufacturer directly to make sure that your weight will not be a problem with the model you’re considering.

Of course, now at 40 years old I don’t have the option of going back to that time quite yet, so getting my hands on the new Vado 4S was pretty awesome not only for me but for my kids as well. They’ve been wanting this ever since they saw someone riding one in a local Target store about a year ago.
